LS220DE Size on Disk 100x actual size
« on: September 23, 2019, 10:20:17 AM »
I came back to work after the weekend, and the LS220DE NAS we have been using is inexplicably full. After some digging, I discovered the Size on Disk was 100x the actual size of the file/folder. The NAS is using the XFS file system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The actual disk usage should be about 2.9TB.

Two things here, the "size on disk" value for folders as displayed in Windows has been wrong for ages already on this model, so ignore that. For actual space used go with NasNavigator or the LinkStation GUI.

As for the LinkStation actually being full in this case: check your trashbox. Are those automated backups running to the LinkStation (i.e. some kind of backup program is used)? If so make sure the trashbox is deactivated for that share folder.
