migration from old terastation 1TB to 2TB model
« on: November 07, 2008, 10:30:45 PM »

Hi, I have old terastation (1TB model) using up to 696GB and would like to migrate to new terastation 2TB model. Could anyone tell me the fastest way to migrate the files from old one to new? Many thanks!

- The backup function of the terastation is not working properly with large sizes folder.

- map drive to copy file, the speed is 1min - 30MB

Regarding the migration, the best and only way to do it correctly would be to remove HDD1, insert the new higher capasity disk and restructure the raid array (this will take several hours) Once completed, remove HDD2 => insert new disk and again restructure the RAID array. Do this with all five disks. Only when the 4th disk has been restructured will it show the new capasity. This of course will only work if you have it setup to RAID5 and will not work if you have it as JDOB.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
