Link Station Duo slow transfer speed
« on: January 30, 2011, 11:19:34 AM »

I have searched through the forum but did not find any conclusive post. Maybe someone has a hint: I have a LinkStation Duo LS-WXL, running in RAID 0 firmware 1.37, connected via GB LAN, PCs are running Win 7 64 bit professional. I noticed slow transfer speeds: When copying large amount like 16 GB in many files (ca. 14,000) the transfer speed when copying  via explorer drops down quickly below 1 MB/sec, more like 300 - 600 kB/s. Would mean to copy these 16 Gb would take about 4 hours. Is that normal and to be expected ? Disabling Antvirus does not help, Lan adapter is set to 1 GB Full Duplex. Appreciate any hints.

Have you tried FTP to transfer files ? Atleast that way is much, much faster than transferring them over wifi.

The slow speed is probably duo to the large amount of files. It may be pushing the cpu's limits and causing the slow speed.
