TS-XL Firmware 1.30 no longer streams AVCHD
« on: March 24, 2010, 07:08:26 PM »

The media Server (Twonky) can no longer stream AVCHD files after i upgraded to the new 1.3x firmware..  Can someone help or point me to the old firmware.  I did notice that twonky on 1.2x was 4.4.18 and 1.3 is 4.4.19_e2.

All my home movies are in AVCHD format and the wife and grandparents can no longer watch them. (life is coming to an end)

can someone help?

Chris

Try this first:

Try resetting to defaults and initialize the mediadata base first if that does'nt work then there is the link.

Resetting twonky did not fix the problem.  :-(   I can not find the firmware in the file you suggested.  Can you point to the correct file.

Thanks!

To correct my previous post firmware 1.20 has twonky 4.4.8 installed and this version does stream AVCHD.  I found a download location from Buffalo that still have 1.2 posted.

You have to edit the TSUpdater.ini file and change

VersionCheck = 1 to a 0

ie: VersionCheck = 0

I downgraded and all works well.  I will be hosting this file myself as i know buffalo will delete the file from the the EU site.

I suggest if Buffalo  reads any of these posts that the release notes contain ALL changes to the firmwareOnly reason i purchased this unit is for the media server to host my Audio / Video / Photo filesIf it can not it will find it's way to ebay....

Thanks for all the help everyone.
