« on: May 01, 2019, 12:12:46 PM »
Hi the LCD display did show status etc, buttons it shows nothing but the backlight. I have changed settings via the laptop but this makes no difference. Is there anything I can do

What model/device is this?
Have you tried rebooting it?

The model is a TS-2.0TGL/R5 and yes rebooting made no difference.

I should have said “unplug the device for a few minutes” rather than just reboot. The goal os to power off the microcontroller that drives the lcd (which stays on through a reboot).

Could be that the lcd died, it is probably >10yrs old at this point.

I think there are posts on this forum somewhere where folks have reported what drives they have tried in these devices.

My guess is that the maximum for these devices are 2tb drives. My guess would be that the bootloader and/or firmware aren’t set up for gpt partition tables which would leave you with the 2tb mbr limit. Some sata controllers also don’t like drives above 2tb which might affect this device though I doubt it. Any/all of the above may also not accept drives with 4k sectors.
