Remote Internet File transfers to LinkStation Live
« on: October 30, 2008, 12:06:19 PM »

I may of completed a sucessful Link Station Live 500GB drive installation.  Accessig the Link Station from the Internet gives me access to the files but no hooks and handles for writing a file or files back to the drive.

In the old days FTP is required to move multiple files.

Is that required for this product and what is the best (and cheapest) FTP to use?

I normally recommend Filezilla (http://filezilla-project.org/) when an FTP client is needed, as it is easy to use, free, and open source. It will run on Windows, Mac, and Linux. In order to use FTP with the Linkstation from a remote location, TCP ports 20-21 need to be forwarded to the Linkstation's IP address in the your router's firewall or port forwarding section.
