Direct access to hard disk in case of emergency
« on: November 24, 2018, 10:09:44 AM »
Hi to all,
I am using a LS-WXL182 with two WD-3TB-hard disk drives in Raid1-mode without any problem so far. My question is, how I can access one of the hard disk drives directly under Windows 10 in case the Buffalo electronic or the power supply will be defective. I am making of course backups of the LS-WXL182 regularely, but it takes so long to make the backup for 1,6TB .....
Is there a way to take the hard disk out of the Buffalo-housing, connect it to an USB-SATA-Bay for example and get direct access to all files and folders - read only would be OK in this emergency case. Thanks in advance and kind regards from Hanspeter

Buffalo uses MDADM and XFS

windows is not able to read this

your PC can use this with a boot-cd
example Knoppix
