Can drive from LS210D0301 be moved to another enclosure?
« on: November 04, 2018, 09:27:22 AM »
The firmware on my LS210D0301 appears to have corrupted due to power failure.  It's still on the network and the web GUI partially loads.  It has a steady orange light.  Turning it off with the power switch will not power it down.  The files on the disk are not visible to the network.  Navigator 2 cannot see it. Firmware update cannot see it.

My question is can the drive be read by another SATA enclosure or can I buy another LS210D0301 and move the drive to that one without losing the current data?

No. This will be the same. The firmware on the drives is corrupted.

Yes, read about MDADM.

The LS210 (and most if not all single drive devices) doesn't create MDADM arrays like the multi-drive models. Assuming there isn't something physically wrong with the drive you should be able to connect it to a linux system and mount the XFS data partition (usually partition 6) and read the files.

Thanks for the replies.  Do you have any idea whether I need to buy a SATA or SAS enclosure in which to put the drive?

It's a SATA disk.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
