LS520D DLNA Problems
« on: July 01, 2018, 12:07:56 PM »
I recently upgraded to an LS520D and none of my streaming devices can see the contents of the shared DLNA folder. Everything can see the folder but none ever lists any contents. I hooked my old LS-WV back up and everything shows right up.

Firmware version 4.30-20171109
Raid 1 configuration

DLNA is checked in the folder setup. Is there another setting that needs to be set?

I've updated the firmware but I cannot get back into "System Settings" to refresh DLNA. I can get to every other application from the application window but not that one. It just never opens. They're all running extremely slowly however. Quite a bit more slowly than my very old LSWV.

No change in DLNA behavior after the update but I have not been able to refresh the database.

This device is very fast, but the firmware is buggy.
I have activated dlna and the nas is not usable for a long time.
I think, the refresh is running with wrong priority

like my example with rsync.
Quote
crontab -l >/tmp/rsync.crontab ;
echo '*/1 * * * * /usr/bin/renice -n 19 $(/bin/pidof rsync)' >>/tmp/rsync.crontab ;
crontab < /tmp/rsync.crontab ; rm /tmp/rsync.crontab

from
http://forum.nas-hilfe.de/buffalo-technology-nas-anleitungen/ls500-serie-backup-auf-eine-alte-linkstation-mit-dem-rsync-daemon-t2707.html

i will try to reduce the priority of dms later

When I got home from work today I was a able to get into system settings and it was very fast. It was basically unusable as you say yesterday when troubleshooting. Now I have refreshed and restarted the DLNA service again and it is now behaving very slowly again.

Still none of my streaming devices see any content on the server.

Samba is running with priority 35, nicelevel 15
dms_sync is running with priority 15, nicelevel -5

when dms is scanning the drives you can not use your nas with windows network
(-20 is the highes priority!, 35 is lower then 15)
