Updating and changing to a newer model
« on: May 22, 2018, 05:12:17 AM »
I am about to buy a new enclosure having had a failure on my old motherboard in my old four bay linkstation.
Is it possible to just remove the HDD and put them in the new one?
Befor you ask, I don’t remember my old link station model number and it’s still in the computer shop.
Also, before I buy my new Linkstation 441D, can I check that it is JUST the motherboard that has gone. I understand it is Linux based HDD and I only have a PC!!!
Thanks in advance

It doesn't work like that.

You need to have the exact same model number of Linkstation in order to transfer the disks, if you put the disks into a different model unit then it will format the disks.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Blast!
Is there a way to transfer the files using a PC, a simple one preferred.
Thanks for super fast response

Try mounting the disks in Windows using UFS explorer.
