Support for Chrome OS???
« on: April 14, 2018, 05:11:49 PM »
I recently purchased this Buffalo Linkstation 220 NAS, my first NAS, along with a Chromebook.

My thinking was that I could get away with a lighter, cheaper laptop, since I would be storing all my data on the NAS. I was surprised to see zero support or NAS Navigator software for a Chrome OS machine. The only option is through Web Access I, which is awkward at best.

Am I correct?
Wouldn't an NAS like the Buffalo Linkstation 220 be tailor-made for someone using a Chromebook? For someone who may only need to work on a handful of files at a time, on a "cloud"?

Just really surprised.

Chrome OS does not have native support for SMB file shares. You have to add an extension to the OS.
