Disk Error - Bad Sectors
« on: April 05, 2018, 08:30:37 PM »
I'm getting the following error on my Buffalo LinkStation:

DISK Error Notification

HDD error occurred
Disk(s) the error occurred:"Disk 2"

(sdb) READ sector:2002952 count:29
Disk writing error
Continuous backup is recommended.

[LinkStationInformation]
 LinkStationName: LS-WVLA5B (LS-WVL)
 Time: 2018/04/04 18:16:15
 Setting Screen: http://192.168.108.101/

I've completely backed up my hard drive to another external drive and now want to recover the raid array.
Can I just try to rebuild the raid array and see if it fixes the bad sectors or do I need to buy a new drive and then rebuild it?  I'm pretty sure this was caused by a power failure so I doubt it is a failed drive.

Thanks,
Greg G

In this case you reinstall the OS or you can recover OS. Power supply problem can create bad sector, so better change it if it get any malfunction here. If hard drive got problem better change it, because of repaired hard drive wont go long time.
