Out of box TeraStation 7120R will not boot up
« on: December 15, 2017, 12:01:48 PM »
So I just spun up a TeraStation 7120R for the first time. It went through some long startup process and is now stuck on an error message that says "lockfile (/var/lock/cron_update) is already exist!  Has anyone had this issue with a new system right out of the box, and if so, how do I get past it?

Please contact technical support for assistance. We need to be able to track any occurrences of this nature so they can be corrected before the product is shipped. It sounds like a simple case of the image not being loaded correctly from the factory but we need to be certain. Technical support can help you correct the problem and get the unit up and running ASAP.

I already submitted an email to tech support.  Turnaround time is 24 hours so I'm still waiting to hear back.

With a new unit you should be able to call them for a quicker response.

Yes, just put the serial number into the system at

And you should get the phone number to call, unless it came out of a box that is very old, indeed.
