LinkStation™ 200 Not Recovering Space After Deleting Files
« on: November 06, 2017, 02:58:19 PM »
I apologize if this question has been answered ad nauseum. I did not see a related topic on a quick search of the forum, might not have used the right words.

At any rate, I have a 4GB raid. I've cleared up space such that it says I have 53.6% used - plenty of room.

Try to copy drives from my computer over to the Buffalo - no luck.  I've looked at read rights, I've tried going in through dos and did seemingly empty the trashbin, and I've ensured my user name and groups have admin rights, but nothing is shaking loose.

Hoping this is a simple issue.

Thanks,
WW

Login to your buffalo unit and look for the SMB Protocol setting. Open its settings and edit the SMB protocol to version 2.0 or higher. Recently Windows has stopped supporting SMB version 1 which many Buffalo units default to out of the box.
