1. Using the LS520 control panel change the default Direct Copy folder to one you have previously created.
2. Plug your USB drive into the LS520 USB port and format it using ext3; when finished dismount and remove the USB drive.
3. Plug your USB drive into the LS220 USB port and create an immediate-normal backup job; come out of the job editor to run it.
4. When completed edit the LS220 backup up job and change it to unscheduled. This stops the job running again.
5. Dismount the LS220 USB drive and remove it from the USB port.
6. Plug the USB drive into the LS520 USB port.
7. When you have two steady white lights on the front panel the Direct Copy process will be ready.
8. Within 60s press the red function button once on the back panel.
8. When Direct Copy process is complete the bottom white light on the front panel will go out.
9. Use the LS520 control panel to cut and paste your data to where you want it.

The LS520 Direct Copy will not work because the default folder is not present under the Public folder thats why you have to set it to a folder you have previously created.
