Problem with the WEB service

I have this message when I tried to save the Advance Settings in the WEb services
The UPnP gateway was not found or does not support port forwarding, use the manual configuration.

The internal port is 9000.

Could you help me

Thank you in advance

When you set up WebAccess the unit attempts to talk to your router using the UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) protocol. Either the router you're using doesn't support UPnP or it doesn't support port forwarding. Here's a link to Wikipedia's article on port forwarding: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_forwarding

In short, you router has to forward traffic specific to WebAccess to the NAS and it does so using specific TCP functions called ports. By default the NAS will use port 9000 on the internal network side but the internet side port could be almost anything that isn't blocked by your ISP.

Since your router apparently doesn't support UPnP you'll have to manually configure port forwarding on the router. Here's an article on how that would be done on a Buffalo router: http://www.buffalotech.com/knowledge-base/configuring-port-forwarding-on-a-buffalo-airstation

Your router configuration will probably be similar but you may need to check the router manufacturer's website for detailed instructions. You'll also need to make sure that the internet side port you choose isn't blocked by your ISP. Here's a website to check for open ports: http://canyouseeme.org/
