LS-WSXL F/W Update Notice
« on: August 06, 2017, 11:13:24 AM »
Received a firmware update notification on 8/6/2015 for my NAS
Unit: LS-WSXL/R1

Is this F/W update correct and aplicable?

Buffalo site posts a v1.06 as available and posted way back on 4/26/2016. ReadMe file for this indicates it is for LS-WSGL/R1(Windows) and indicates is is Ver 1.10. The software description also states this is "... software is a setup utility of LinkStation Mini (LS-WSGL/R1)." However, the name of this item is given as "LinkNavigator for LS-WSGL/R1(Windows)."

URL: http://www.buffalotech.com/support/downloads/linkstation-mini

Buffalo, please remove this item if it is in error or correct / explain as necessary. I would attach some information, but "attachments" do not appear to work.

In case it matters, I am a US user.

Thanks!

The 1.06 firmware is not for your unit, it's for an older version of the Linkstation Mini.

The latest version for your device is 1.73
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Davo,

Thanks for the info. I gathered it did not apply to me after reading the details.

The issue is that it showed up on the web site for the LS-WSXL unit when it did / does not apply. I had to look at the details my unit was telling me to see the correct version. Also, I typically collect a copy of the F/W updates vice just letting the unit apply one on its own. Cannot pull a copy when the unit self-updates. Oh well.

Just trying to get the Buff Tech folks to correct their site.

Later ...
