LAN Port #1 not Accessable
« on: July 10, 2017, 11:57:47 AM »
Hi,

I have a Terastation TS5800D with firmware 3.52-0.02.
On both networkports I use static IPs in the same subnet.
If I plugged a LAN cable into port 2 the NAS were be found in the network.
If I plugged the cable into port 1 the NAS were not be found.
Also I have try it with DHCP. The same error.

A part of the system log
Jul  9 21:45:47 NAS81 kernelmon: cmd=lanact 1000 full eth1
Jul  9 21:45:55 NAS81 networking.sh: Each network is not same in physically(or virtually).
Jul  9 21:45:55 NAS81 networking.sh:         Shutting down eth0
Jul  9 21:45:55 NAS81 networking.sh: arp_newip_notify_sub : Can't get ipaddr of eth0.
Jul  9 21:45:55 NAS81 networking.sh: arp_newip_notify_sub : executing arping -A 192.168.1.11 -I eth1 -c 1

did anybody have a good idea about this error?
Regards Roland

Multiple NICs in the same subnet are not recommended and can cause network problems. It will not increase throughput. To utilize both NICs on one subnet to increase throughput it is recommended to use port trunking, but only if the switch you are using supports it. If this is not an option then it is recommended to only use one port.

I think so! I have config the both ports in the same segment to check failure of port #1.
But only one LAN calble is connected at the same time.
