RAID5 Can not load array1.
« on: July 17, 2018, 02:28:47 PM »
Have a Terrastation TS1400R1604-US. Raid5. Started running a backup on the NAS a few days ago. 4 hours into the backup start getting an error about drive #4 and device goes into degraded mode but backup continues. Immediately replace/hot-swap drive #4 with a matching WD Green 4TB drive. 30 seconds later the entire thing crashes and on reboot starts giving a message about not being able to load array1. Then drive #3 vanishes from the drive list. On reboot, drive #3 reappears. During the first error, the only red light was the drive #4 light. The remaining lights were all green. Now all of the lights (after replacing #4) are green and the device is showing everything as good and working, just no array1.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to load array1. Annoying that this happened during the first full backup. No big deal though. Afraid to use the NAS now since it seems to be unstable. Is there anyway to verify if the remaining drives are okay (before the dreaded red light)
