« on: April 19, 2017, 04:59:50 AM »
Hi all,

I need to replace the hard drives in my buffalo ls 220. Would this hard drive be okay as i saw it said you should only buy drives that they reccomended. But i cant see how it would make a difference. Thanks!

These should work fine, just bare in mind you will need the recovery image for the new disks as the OS for the 220 is stored on the original disks themselves.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

You can also replace one drive at a time and rebuild the array each time  :Dto retain the image.
**A single copy of data, even on a RAID array, is NOT a backup! Hard drive failure is not a question of IF, but WHEN! Don't take my word for it, take Google's!**

And then you have to delete the RAID and create a new RAID to see the new higher capacity, but that will take 3 days to complete in total ;-)

So i assume this is not as simple as just getting one hard drive out and putting another in?

I need to replace both hard drives as both hard drives now don't work and i cant get any information off them. What do i need to do to put two new hard drives in and getting it working again ?

Thank you for all the help.
