Admin reset and access denied
« on: January 22, 2017, 01:34:51 AM »
Yes. I'm having issues.
I've been using my buffalo nas (LS-XS) for about 4 years without any issues.
Today I tried changing a setting using the app on my phone. All hell broke loose.
1st it said my admin login/password was incorrect. It's never been changed and it was saved in my phone and on my of (mac).
I tried many times to login. No luck.
Using the nas app on the mac I logged in fine. Same I'd and password.
Then logged out. Tried again. Couldn't login on the computer.
That is to say, no drive mounts with the name of my buffalo nas.
But, a 'shared' drive does mount and I have access. So it seems to work in the house on my network.

But, if I go to buffalonas.com and type in the name, it says connection denied (not even asking to login or anything). Although, when the problem first began I made it to the screen at which you have to click login on the upper right. But now it won't let me even get that far.
If I try to use the app in my phone it says my nas now has no name.
But, if you try to do the setup, it times out with an error.

So the questions are:
1) was I rejected for trying to login so many times with a correct yet incorrect admin login?
2) will my WebAccess ever return?
3) can I ever reset the admin login? There is no reset button on the device, and apparently the only other way to do it is online, brilliantly after logging in which is not possible.
