No problem PPW,

Try adding this as the URL in the bittorrent manager:

http://releases.ubuntu.com/9.04/ubuntu-9.04-desktop-i386.iso.torrent

PPW? Oh, Pottypotsworth, Durr, obvious... its late :/

Well i couldnt add it through Add torrent from URL, but i did upload it from my pc and it doesn't seem to have found any seeds. I left it for a few minutes and refreshed the page but nothing :(

That is weird,  change the port to 50000 in the bittorrent manager settings.  Maybe your ISP is blocking it for some reason.  Obviously make sure that you forward port 50000 as well.

I tried it on 9001 before, and i didnt work. I'll try 50000 but i cant see it working.

Edit: Checked with canyouseeme.org and got success on 50000, but torrent's still don't work :(

Could this be a DNS issue that people mentioned before? Like the torrent can't locate the tracker server or something?

Are there any reliable DNS servers i could use to enter manually? i can't for the life of me find the two my isp uses. - I tried the openDNS servers and it made no difference.

Try to DMZ the linkstation in your router

Already thought of that but i can't :( The stupid router only gives me a drop down of devices i can select to put in the DMZ and only lists 2 machines and not any of my other devices. I will see if i can find a way round that though.

Hi there,

since I got the same problem with my router I would like to know what you had to do to get the port forwarding working correctly?

Thanks for your help.

Moon,

Please give us more information in order to help you solve your issue.  Do you have cable or DSL?  Did you use Upnp or did you type in 9000?  Is that port forwarded?  What does it say at canyouseeme.org?  What kind of router are you using?  What steps have you tried (all of the ones in this thread?)?

I have another problem. Bittorrent works fine, but I can only reach download speed of 2MB/s. My PC can download over 15MB/s so it makes my Buffalo a bit worthless. I'm using port 7652 and the connection is ok.

The product is LS-CH1.0TB-EU.

Could someone please help me?

After 3hrs on tech support, I can get on web access anywhere. The Bit torrent worked last night but won't now. The same ports are open now as they were last night.
