Buffalo AirStation Extreme AC1750 Won't Boot - Frozen
« on: September 07, 2016, 11:38:24 AM »
Last night, noticed speeds were slow, video skipping, etc.  So, I turned off the router, the modem, and restarted them all.  This usually works and gets everything back running smooth.  Except this time, the router will not boot.  Sits frozen with the red Buffalo light lit.  Cannot reset it, cannot log into it, can't do anything with it.

Any suggestions?

The first thing I would try is a reset. Using a paper clip or other small object, press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds and see if you get a response.

Yeah, I tried that.  No dice, no change.  Tried leaving it unplugged for a long period of time as well.  Still nothing.  Possibly it is just dead?  I guess these things eventually die.  I had hoped it would be a few more years though.

The last thing you might try is holding the reset button while you turn it on. If that gets no response then it is likely failed.

Yeah, tried that, too.  I was afraid it was dead, but thought I'd put out some feelers for other ideas first.  Thanks for the help.  If any other ideas or suggestions come about, we'll give it a try, but at this point it doesn't look like I should hold out hope.
