1. Go to “Basic Setup” tab of your DD-WRT control panel.
2. Select the Connection type drop down menu & Select “PPTP” protocol.
3. Not that “Use DHCP” should be selected as “Yes”.
4. Enter your Gateway (PPTP server) provided by your provider
5. Enter the username and password provided by Ivacy
6. Write “refuse-eap” in additional PPTP option box.
7. Next, you have to scroll down and make sure DHCP server is “enable” and then click on “Apply Settings” and then click “Save”.
8. On the top menu click on “Status” and then click on “WAN” tab.
9. Now select “Connect” button under “WAN” tab.

Do let me know how it goes. BTW how’s Ivacy VPN? Haven’t heard of it…

Thanks a lot. I had to make some more changes, but your steps helped a lot. Ivacy is a good VPN and its price is also reasonable. $21 per year is a good deal. The speed is decent, and the support is also good. Just got the email from support as well of how to configure Ivacy on DD WRT :D

Yeah it's nice to use, but downloading I would not recommend. Little slow down your speed and take little long to connect with P2P server. Also they didn't have vpn  app for iPhone so its not a good call to get Ivay yet.

Hi,

If you are looking into any other VPN option I would suggest to go with PureVPN. You will get all details on how to setup and features here https://www.purevpn.com/router-vpn.php

You can confirm it by their live chat support. However you can read IVacy Review here to find if it support Buffalo router or not.

You can also call Ivacy VPN via Skype to get your query resolved. However, Skype calls are only used for technical issues that are incurred during setup or during the use of service.

I am not sure about Ivacy as it is realtively new provider but yes ExpressVPN do support DD WRT router and with easy steps.
To set up ExpressVPN on your DD-WRT router, you will first need to download the OpenVPN configuration files. You need to Follow these instructions to configure your router with OpenVPN in this ExpressVPN review

I don't know how to setup Ivacy VPN on your DD-WRT Router.

Follow these steps for successful configuration of VPN on Router.

1. Go to “Basic Setup” tab to your DD-WRT control settings.
2. Choose the Network type drop in the down menu & Pick “PPTP” protocol.
3. Not that “Use DHCP” should be selected as “Yes”.
4. Enter (PPTP server) provided by VPN provider
5. Enter the Email ID and Password provided by VPN
6. Write “refuse-eap” in additional PPTP option box.
7. Next, Scroll down and make sure DHCP server is “enable” and then click on “Apply Settings” and then click “Save”.
8. On the top menu click on “Status” and then click on “WAN” tab.
9. Now select “Connect” button under “WAN” tab.

Note: Ivacy VPN supports limited server locations for multiple purposes. There is no another way to connect with your desired location, except choosing an alternative VPN like Private Internet Access review or ExpressVPN which are more reliable in these case you don't have many options.

Have to ask...  were you successful at setting up this Buffalo router with PureVPN?  I have been following the tutorials on PureVPN and am not having luck.  Just knowing that someone has been successful would be encouraging.

Anyone successful, and can point to a HowTo, a Tutorial, anything?

Hi

I have a lot of problems ( don't work) with Buffalo WZR-HP-G450H firmware r27240 and PPTP VPN !

have followed step by step ipvanish/Hma  guide "DD-WRT Routers PPTP Setup" with the following configuration:

- router TP Link  TD-W8960N set as pure modem (bridge) connected to the router Buffalo  WZR-HP-G450H  via Ethernet cable plugged into the port wan of Buffalo.

The modem TP Link  TD-W8960N has the following IP: 192.168.1.3

The Buffalo  router has the following IP : 192.168.2.1

With the Script found on the WIKI of DD-WRT firmware I access to the web interface of both devices ( ifconfig `nvram get wan_ifname`:0 192.168.1.4 netmask 255.255.255.0 and         iptables -t nat -I POSTROUTING -o `nvram get wan_ifname` -j MASQUERADE )

If I setup Buffalo  router with PPPoE connection everything works perfectly and I access to Internet

If I setup Buffalo  router with PPTP and I use the IPVanish / HMA  credentials  I have no connection (WAN 0.0.0.0)

The tools of Window 10 and HP that test the network tell me that there is no connection between the modem and TP Link and the router Buffalo

Where am I doing wrong?
