The specified user was not found
« on: December 07, 2015, 09:00:40 AM »
Hello,

I have a LinkStation LS220D.

I can add my Link Station to the domain.
I can see domain users and groups.
But when i try to edit any user or group to assign permissions i get this error:

The specified user was not found.

Someone know what's happening?

Regards

How exactly are you setting the permissions? right click folder -> Security? If so this will not work.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
Having network issues? Drop me an email: info@interwebnetworks.com and we will get it fixed!

Hi,

I'm setting permissions within the 'users' section - i can see all my AD users in this section, but when i click on the user i want to add the permission to, i get a box come up and say 'specified user cannot be found'. Its almost as if the box can't deal with how many users we have in AD. It seems to be fine with the first 100 users in the list, can open them and add the permissions absolutely fine, but any users past about 100 come up with the same error as stated. Any ideas? IS it just that the Buffalo box doesn't support large AD environments?

This unit should be able to deal with up to 1000 users. What firmware version are you running?

Hi, Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I think that is the issue right there.... Although it doesn't even seem to support 1000 in our environment. We have 1300 users so it seems this box obviously isn't up to the job. Can i ask where your saw that it only supported 1000 users? I have tried to look for this information or any limitations on the AD integration but with no luck.
Thank you.

It's listed in the User's Manual, available here: http://d.buffalo.jp/LS220D/

Dears,

I am facing the same issue on my LS441D. we have only 900 users on AD. Some users able to assign permission, but not for new users, can say created in 2019.

When trying to edit the user, will say The specified user was not found.

Need your urgent support on the same.

REgards,
