I can't get my Buffalo AirStation WZR-1750DHP to resolve any other host name from my local network other than itself. I tried explicitly entering a name in the "Network Devices" overview, using the optional DHCP "host name" field and even setting up Avahi (aka Zeroconf/Bonjour) because I read somewhere that this might help.
The router even recognizes the host name automatically for machines using SMB but whether automatically recognized or manually entered, it refuses to actually resolve these names.
