LS-W2.0TGL/R1 SMB failure?
« on: November 22, 2015, 09:50:47 PM »
I'm trying to connect to my LS-WTGL/R1 through windows explorer but it keeps giving me a network error:
Windows cannot access \\BOX
Error code:0x80070035
The network path was not found.

I've been trying for months now to get this working again but haven't had any success from tips/suggestions found.
The device shows up in the network section but
Windows can't find a computer or device named "BOX" Detected Detected

Windows can communicate with the name resolution server but can't find the host name.
Make sure the computer or device is turned on and connected to the network Completed

Windows can't find "BOX". If the computer or device you are trying to reach is nearby, make sure it is turned on and connected to the network. Otherwise, contact your network administrator for assistance.

After performing a factory reset and wiping the drive (regret), I moved on to port scans and Zenmap is showing 445 (smb) not open.
I don't see any mention of SMB in the web configuration so I'm wondering if there is a way for me to open the port manually?
I have been using this NAS for years without problem until recently.
I've tried disabling firewall and antivirus but no change.
I can access the NAS through all other means. FTP/HTTP/Media Share
Unable to access SMB with Windows 7, Android, or Windows 10.
I'd like to use it with SMB again.
I have some wireshark and Zenmap data if that might help.
