Backup folder permisions
« on: August 30, 2015, 09:32:39 PM »
I am backing up my LS-WXLB7D to a USB drive connected to the linkstation.  The linkstation was used to format the drive.
To keep this simple,  the backup results in 20 sibling folders on the target USB disk.  15 of them I can browse freely, but the remaining 5 will not permit me to access the contents of the folders.  Why ?    There is no apparent security difference in the file source folders.

For the target folders I can access,  security is granted to Everyone, root (Unix User\root), root (Unix Group\root).
For the target folders I can't access it says "You do not have permission to view or edit this object's permission setting".

If I drag and drop the files from the LS to the USB, I can browse the target folder.

I am trying to browse across a network from a windows laptop.

Why does this happen and how can I get access to the 5 folders on par with the other 15 ?
