Invalid input: Product Serial Number
« on: July 15, 2015, 10:16:25 AM »
I am having a problem to download some files after replacing the two hard drives in my 5200D. I have tried to type in the serial manually and then even scanning the barcode but always get "Invalid input: Product Serial Number".

Any help please?

Most often this is seen when using a EU or AP serial number on the US site.
**A single copy of data, even on a RAID array, is NOT a backup! Hard drive failure is not a question of IF, but WHEN! Don't take my word for it, take Google's!**

The problem is that i need

Bootable USB recovery image for TS5000 series. Requires a minimum 4GB USB flash drive. Readme file included in zip, please follow instructions carefully.

But this is not listed on the Australian Buffalo page, only on the US and there my serial number isn't accepted.

Could someone from Buffalo take care of this please, i need the unit running ASAP.

Why the hell would a company limit access to such software for people outside the US? I am in Australia, not in some country that is under sanctions

This is definitely the last piece of Buffalo our company will ever waste money on

Not sure which is the biggest rubbish. The product, the support or community

Typically software that requires a serial number is licensed from another company, therefore we are required to verify that someone has a unit before giving them the software. Since this site is US based, our database only contains information for US sold products. Please contact http://au.buffalo-asia.com/ for further assistance.

Hmmm... seems like US support went out of their way to find something that you couldn't be bothered to track down yourself. It seems pretty strange to buy something in Australia and then pitch a fit because the American version of the company wouldn't help you with it. Hard to take your side in this.

I have been a million times on the asia site. The problem is that even when i enter my serial number i can't download the software.

This software is only available on the US site which does not accept my serial.

How is this fair that i purchase something and can't get the software needed for it to run?

I could give it to you, but your attitude stinks, so I'm not going to bother.

My attitude sucks? You are a moron and you can put it where the sun doesn't shine.
I am happy to buy a proper unit from some other manufacturer than to support this rubbish.

Put yourself in my position and then tell me my attitude sucks. You buy something that needs a software from the manufacturer and you don't get it. Just because you are not in the US. Someone should have told me that when i purchased this rubbish
