LS410D0201 Randomly Disconnects with No Warning
« on: February 13, 2015, 07:52:23 AM »
I have seen this has been posted quite a few times.  The LS410D0201 disappears from NAS Navigator and cannot be accessed.  yet, the device is still powered on.  I have noticed when this happens, it cannot be pinged either.  No warning of when it is about to happen or after it happens.  It requires a Power Cycle to bring it back.  The Firmware was updated which seem to make the situation a little better.  Using a Buffalo WZR-600DHP2D as the Wireless Router.  I have tried looking through other threads but see no responses.  Someone at Buffalo please help!

It was the same for me, but I suppose it is firewall and antivirus job (in my case).

same issue with LS220D21E
the IP (which is fixed) does not show in the router list of clients either
seems to lose (or has lost) connection quite often when I try to connect to it..
latest FW v1.6 is installed.
No such issues with three other older buffalo duo units..

I have a similar problem with a LS421DE when it's happend I have to shut it down and restart it, then it's working again for a while.
But I have also another problem, when I shut it off with the button on the back, sometime the power led stay on, I have to unplug it from the main power that it works again.
Any idea of what it can be ? I have already update it to the latest firmware.

Azasel... From what i understand.. When you switch  off the unit it will not stop straight away.. it needs to do stuff or maybe it is already doing something  internally which cannot stop immediately...
so if it stops within a minute or so after switching the switch.. i would think that there is no problem..

Same problem here, 7month old LS421DE drops off the network often. Stays connected for a few hours and then drops off the network without any warning and has to be rebooted to connect again. Problem started after the latest fw update.

Reply from Buffalo support:
Reboot, ensure ip is set on the same network. Replace the unit (no buffalo centres in India, also not a good way to solve a problem), No official way to downgrade the fw, to reinstall the firmware must format the drives (not doing that, have nearly 6tb worth data on it)

Does anyone have any solutions for this??

I have had no disconnects since I disabled the DLNA server and restarted the unit using the web interface.. then restarting the DLNA server.. maybe coincidence.. but..!! so far so good.
I saw this resolution on a web site relating to the same disconnecting annoyances on some iomega nas.
cheers

That didn't work . . Its just sitting there like a brick. . . Why isn't there an official solution when the problem dates back to more than 5 years.

I meant that there were similar problems with other buffalo NAS devices. Oh, and I tried to set a static ip on the NAS in the same network right after the firmware update. But after noticing the problems I restored it to default settings and it was set back to DHCP.

So to everyone on this post, IF this issues happen when you updated to 1.80 you need to revert back, Issue is with the firmware it seems. Can refer to his post on how.

http://forums.buffalotech.com/index.php?topic=22826.msg83045

And to show its the 1.80 firmware here is replies from people that have reverted and the issue is fixed

If this does not work let me know. I can give y'all a few more suggestions. Going to buy the unit when I find a broken one or a dang good sale. I don't own one nor do I need one at this time but Ill do it to help out.

looks like its working, no issues for the past 30 hours. So problem is most likely to be with f/w v1.80.

For me downgrading to the original firmware (1.34) works, it solve all the problems.
I have report it to the support but they didn't answer...
