Scheduled backups don't starts
« on: October 23, 2008, 01:13:19 PM »

Hi,

I have a LS-W1.0TGL/R1 nas server, firmware 3.07-0.00.

Before the above server, i had a similar server from marts 2008, but i think it was firmware 1.?.?.?.

On the old server, it was possible to schedule a job to run at night. When the time for the backup arrived, the server just booted and did the backup job.

The new server however (from obtober 2008), does not automatically boot.

I have a job scheduled to run at 1:00 pm every day (night), but nothing happens.

The server is set up to start/stop automatically whenever a PC is running on our intranet. And it seems to work just fine.

Is it still possible to schedule backup jobs to run anytime - even if the server is powered down - like the older model ??

BR

Peter

The server has to be on to run the back up job.

But this wasn't necessary with the marts 2008 model.

What is the difference between now and the older model ??

I don't have it anymore because one of the disks failed with bad sectors and i had to delivered it in. I have got a new server in replace - which is the one that won't boot for backup. But i think it had the same model number as the one i have today.

It had only one USB connection, one botton with a auto and normal position and a push-botton to turn it on/off with. Same disk size, same front.

The new model, i have now, have two usb connections, a 3 state botton and a push-botton (function botton).

I will look into the older model, however the newer models at this time do not boot for backups.
