Windows Sync Problems and saving documents

We have recently set up a NAS (LS-WXL) and have set two users to sync their network share so they can access their documents when they are offline. One works perfectly fine but the other user constantly gets conflicts and has to resolve them in the Sync centre. The same user also keeps on getting error messages when they try to save documents such as 'could not save document' and some messages that it is a read-only file even though they have read and write access to that drive. They keep having to save the document on their local drive and then copy it to the network drive. Would it be possible that this user is having problems saving to the network drive because they have set their network share to be available offline?
