Can anyone tell me the default passive port range for the FTP server built into the Linkstation.
I can connect to the LS fine via my local network, however if I try to connect remotely via filezilla the client fails on the MLSD command as shown below.
Status: Resolving address of xxxxx.no-ip.org
Status: Connecting to xx.xx.xx.xx:21...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: 220 xx.xx.x.xx FTP server ready
Command: USER Jeff
Response: 331 Password required for Jeff
Command: PASS ********
Response: 230 User Jeff logged in
Status: Server does not support non-ASCII characters.
Status: Connected
Status: Retrieving directory listing...
Command: PWD
Response: 257 "/" is the current directory
Command: TYPE I
Response: 200 Type set to I
Command: PORT 192,168,1,64,207,245
Response: 200 PORT command successful
Command: MLSD
Error: Connection timed out
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing
After searching around on the internet it looks to be a problem with the passive port number that the ftp server allocated not being open on my firewall resulting in my filezilla client not being able to continue its conversation with the server .
If I know what the passive port range is I can add that to my port forwarding rules and hopefully fix this..
