LS-QVL in Raid5, HD 2 failure, code I12
« on: August 01, 2014, 03:13:08 PM »
Hi everyone!

Hardware:
- Buffalo LinkStation Pro Quad LS-QVL
- 4x Western Digital Red 3TB

It's configured a Raid 5 array, with 45% disks full.

After a power failure, I restarted the LinkStation; immediately a raid check started. After the 40/50% of advancing status, a E30 error code appeared (long red light x3). Finished the check, the LinkStation restarted itself, and a orange light appeared with I12 error code on hard drive n.2.
I tried to shutdown and restart the LinkStation, but the error is still present.
All the files are available.

What to do?
A raid rebuild?
Or have to replace the drive?

Thanks a lot in advance for any help.
Kind regards, Marco.

Rebuild the raid, failing that replace the HDD.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I started the rebuild of the array, completed just an hour ago: everything was fixed, now blu light!

In your opinion, was it only a writing problem during the power failure, or has the disk any damages? I think the first one, otherwise in rebuilding the array the damages would be notified, I think.

Thanks again for your valid support, kind regards.
Marco from Italy.

It could of just been a partition issue as a result of the power failure. Setup email notification and it will let you know if there is a physical issue with the disk on the daily report.
