eezzeee, create a shortcut to the NASUpdater.exe, right click on the shortcut, and the target field will look something like this:

"C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\firmware folder\NASUpdater.exe"

Add a /force switch after the last doublequote:

"C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\firmware folder\NASUpdater.exe" /force

Then save the shortcut. Make sure TSClient or NASNavigator is not running, then run the shortcut.

I tried the /force switch without success. The updater still says that the TS that needs updating cannot be found, although I am still able to ping the TS while the updater is running.

I guess you might have a different TS then. I have the original Silver Terastation and when I select that in the Downloads Section I can download fw 2.00 and 2.16.

eezzeee -

i have terastation model HD-H1.0TGL/R5.  it sent me to the archive site from downloads for older versions, but when i got there this is all i found:

2005-06-23   112-104

i also do not see any .ini file to change so it doesn't check the version.  when i run the above, it just says no update required.

Try here instead to download the firmware then perform the following:

  1. Extract the files on to your desktop
  2. Right-click on the NASupdater.exe and choose Send to->Desktop (Create Shortcut)
  3. Right-click on the newly created shorcut and choose Properties
  4. In the target line outside of the quotes on the right side put in "/force" (minus quotes and with a space before the forward slash)
  5. Run the shortcut
Hope that works for you :)
