WZR-300HP and DD-WRT.. How to safely unmount external USB?
« on: January 25, 2014, 09:55:40 PM »
I've got the WZR-300HP with pre-installed DD-WRT v24SP2-MULTI (07/09/12) std. It has a 1TB USB drive mounted and accessible from all machines, but how do I safely unmount it if I need to? I don't see any option in the settings for unmounting USB attached storage.

I presume this is also something that should always get triggered before the router is rebooted... If the router were to be restarted via the "Reboot Router" option in the settings pages, for example, the USB/NAS should be safely unmounted before the reboot takes place, right? Is there some script that can be used to handle that as well?

And... if the router were to lose power during an outage, would that damage the data on the external USB? (It's on a UPS but I'm asking in general)

No one from Buffalo can comment on this? DD-WRT *is* a supported firmware, right? It came pre-installed...
