Which Buffalo product for home network Storage
« on: January 21, 2014, 03:24:56 AM »
Hi all,

I hope someone can help, I havent been quite able to find the answer to this ideal set-up.

Which buffalo product would be best for my home network. I'm looking at something that can do the following;
2TB min of storage.
Stand alone unit
Stores all images, movies, data,
Can be controlled via Android phone/tablet or occasional connection into a laptop (for maintenance, large scale data transfer).
Can send via wireless connection to DLNA certified speaker(s) unit in the house. Direct? How would it work over wifi network?
Can connect into brand new sony (KDL42805A) tv (DLNA certified).

Hope someone can help if this is possible.
Cheers
I have a fairly simple wireless router from Virgin media.

I'm not sure about the SONY part and am currently trying to get a UPS not recognized by my two LS-WVL/e units problem resolved.
Otherwise I'm happywith my two LS-WVL/E empty 2 drive compatable units. It will handle one or two drives with a 6 TB limit, or two 3TB drives. I have two 2TB drives in one and a 1 and 2 TB drives in the other and am using WD Green low power/low heat drives. I've previously had experience with a WD World book and like the Buffalo units better. I bought the first one three weeks ago and liked it so well I got another.
I'm waiting on a response on my UPS problem but a Buffalo Tech is available 24/7 and they are in TEXAS and speak English:-)
