WZR-HP-G300NH2 - Lock FTP users to different folders.
« on: January 05, 2014, 10:06:22 PM »
Hello,

Thanks in advance for anyone who responds on this. I'm having a heck of a time trying to get ProFTPd configured on my WZR-HP-G300NH2. I'm using the professional DD-WRT firmware, specifically it is version DD-WRT v24SP2-MULTI (06/03/12) std - build 19154.

My USB drive works fine, and when I set up a test account on my FTP, the user sees the folder /mnt which has the folder sda_part1 and all the contents within it. I literally just put "test test" in the User Password List at that point.

I then edited the configuration manually by SSH, and put the following:
test:test:0:0:Ftp User,,,:/tmp/mnt/sda_part1/Testing:/bin/sh
But that was obviously incorrect, and the FTP service wouldn't come online.

I went back and tried the same thing in the "User Password List," but that doesn't work either since it will parse it completely wrong. I guess the User Password List only assumes you literally put the user and the password, but nothing else? I'm unsure.

Where am I going wrong, and how can I set up individual users to be locked to just a particular folder?
