Very Slow HS-DHGL 244
« on: December 11, 2013, 03:16:11 PM »
I have a Buffalo Linkstation HS-DHGL 244 NAS that worked flawlessly for years.  In the last few weeks, the write speed from all three of my home LAN PCs to the HS-DHGL 244 has dropped to less than 1mbps.  At times, I get an error message indicating that the network address or the folder name is no longer valid, or something along those lines.

Transfers between PCs is fine, with the usual throughput.  The HS-DHGL 244 is using less than 50 percent of its storage space.  I have tried swapping out cat5e cables, and have tried connecting the HS-DHGL 244 to another port on my DGL-4100 D-link router, all without success.

The files on the HS-DHGL 244 appear to be in tact with no apparent corruption, but larger files take forever to open.

What might be going on here?  There appears to be no firmware update available through the web-browser interface. I cannot figure out if this drive is kaput, or perhaps in need of some kind of software upgrade.

Assistance is appreciated. Thanks.
