WZR-HP-G300NH and user-friendly firmware version 1.79

I have the version 1 hardware, and I am in the USA. I am using user-friendly firmware version 1.76. According to the Buffalotech web pile, this is the latest version.

My router's user interface has a page /Admin Config/Update. It offers a feature "Automatic Update(On Line Version Up)." If I select this, it offers to install version 1.79. It also offers to show me release notes, which come from a web server in Japan: http://buffalo.jp/download/driver/lan/txt/releasenote_wzr_hp_g300nh_us.html

I don't want to start the update process without inspecting the firmware file first. I am concerned that this 1.79 firmware might be suited only for version 2 hardware. I mean, why doesn't the Buffalotech web pile advertise this firmware version?

Any info on version 1.79 firmware?

first your going to the wrong site and that is why there is bit a entry for both i would assume because i know the site shows both versions as i had v2 before.

Evidently joma90 did not understand my original post, so he is not going to provide any information on the issue that I am interested in.

The web pile http://www.buffalotech.com/support-and-downloads/downloads indicated by joma90 provides user-friendly firmware for WZR-HP-G300NH as follows:
WZR-HP-G300NH2: firmware version 1.93
WZR-HP-G300NH v1: firmware version 1.76

To repeat from my original post, when I use the user interface of my router to obtain updated firmware, it offers to install version 1.79. I would like to understand what is version 1.79. In particular, why is it not advertised on the web pile http://www.buffalotech.com/support-and-downloads/downloads.

smh........... so you think the firmware update released to the router that is a version 1 might be for a version 2.....
-_- well if you think about it, version 2 is at 1.93.... and they have a different model number... so why would you get a version 2 firmware update on version 1.. did you even read the release notes?? probably not..

i bet if you read it, it will say that the Model is WZR-HP-G300NH and not WZR-HP-G300NH2...

Also Japan makes all the firmware.. probably why its coming from a japan server... The North America site updates when they can.. sometimes there behind sometimes from what i see. Europe and North America is pretty much the same firmware and Europe has some that have a newer firmware on units and vice-verse for North America site.

read the release notes, there not there to look pretty. Maybe if i didn't skim the post i would have provided the correct answer my bad on that part but you don't have to reply like a prick. Pretty simple reply like: Joma90 can you reread my post i dont think you understand what i meant.

maybe this will be a learning experience as some people would not do a reply and leave you to just wait...
