WZR-1750DHP L2TP VPN OSX Server 4
« on: February 04, 2015, 09:58:52 AM »
Hi,

I'm trying to set up a new 1750 to allow a L2TP VPN connection into our office.

I've effectively done this - http://forums.buffalotech.com/index.php?topic=18149.msg72992#msg72992

Here's my set up under Security > Port Forwarding http://ge.tt/6r3mMr92/v/0?c

I've also checked all 3 VPN passthroughs (IPv6, PPPoE, PPTP).

The VPN is running on OSX Server 4 (Yosemite). I can connect to the VPN locally but when I try externally (using an iPhone on 4G) nothing.

Port checks indicate 500, 1701 and 4500 are closed. (I've also opened 1723 for PPTP but I get the same problem).

I've tried with Firewall on and off on the router.

Anything else I'm missing before I try dd-wrt?

Thanks,
Chris

What type of internet connection do you have?

Fibre which comes through an ISP provided router. I've tested the connection hooked up direct to that router and successfully got through to the ports I'm after using Simple Port Scanner (free port scan app).

I'm UK based btw. I was directed by Buffalo Europe to their Spiceworks forum and have this thread open there - http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/778168-wzr-1750dhp-vpn-l2tp-setup?page=1#entry-4276590 but all gone quiet since my last reply.

Thanks,
Chris
