WHR-HP-G300N - client limit?! + signal gone?
« on: August 21, 2013, 07:49:33 AM »
I've got 2 problems, with multiple (3) devices.

All devices are:
Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N.
Firmware: DD-WRT v24SP2-MULTI (06/03/12) std

Setup: Company

We've got 2 buffalo's, acting as access points:
10.0.0.238
10.0.0.239

We've got 1 buffalo, acting as an guest wifi:
10.10.10.10

It configured using a real Vlan, so not using the Buffalo technology.

Problem 1:
The 2 buffalo's were working fine, for the internal use of wifi.
since a few days, when i turn on some extra laptops, they connect to the network, everything is ok.
After like 5 minutes, the laptop or device's windows network icon says: no internet access.
Weird.
But there's more than that: it's also disconnected from the network.
However, the laptop/device still has its IP address, but can't ping anything.
Also strange that windows keeps saying its still connected to the network, without internet access that is.

Users which were known before have no problems at all.
Any device I want to connect, EXTRA, on top of the other devices, has this problem...

Is there like a client limit or something?

I'm guessing we have about 50 devices which use wireless.
That's 50 devices devided over the 2 buffalo's for internal wifi use.
So that would be 25 devices per buffalo.
That can't be a problem, can it?

I have no idea what causes this.

Problem 2:
The one Buffalo, used for our guest wifi, has problem stayong 'online'.
I have to kill it's power, wiat 5 sec, and plug it back in.
When the buffalo finished booting, the public wifi is back online.
It disappears again after a few hours...

What is causing this?
Is it interfering with the other buffalo's?
Do I need to configure this Buffalo so it uses an other channel.. ?
It is not used often, could it be that it goes like in a sleep modus or something?
I really can't think of anything reasonable...

Thanks in advance.
