Physical lock on hard drive, like a laptop lock?
« on: March 11, 2010, 07:37:56 PM »

We use Buffalo drives to backup our network at the office.  I would like to take precautions to guard our data.  Is there a locking device for these drives?  Backups are stored in a locked fireproof box offsite.  But I would like a lock on the one that is hooked to the server overnight.  A lock for transit wouldn't be so bad either.

I see a little padlock emblem on the side of the unit, but I have no idea what it means.

The hole next to the Lock icon, is for locks such as this:

There are many brands for these locks.

The lock fits inside the hole in the HDD case, and expands to lock to the case. Most of these devices use combination locks.
