Backup folders or volumes on NAS to the Cloud
« on: December 18, 2012, 01:32:47 pm »

Buffalo NAS boxes should also offer the possibility of backing up a set of folders or whole volumes stored on the NAS to the Cloud just like almost all of your competitors (QNAP, Synology, etc.).

You could start with simple, open standards like WebDAV and S3 as these protocols are supported by almost all storage space providers.(Box.com, SugarSync and there are DAV proxies for Dropbox, LiveDrive, Google Drive is accessible, etc.)

Simple sync and later diff capabilities could be added as well as scheduling and configuration backups.

Hey, if you decide to release a firmware with an online backup feature set then please do support the Linkstation Mini WSXL as well. :)
