WLI-TX4-AG300N Wireless-N Ethernet converter
« on: January 24, 2009, 11:45:29 AM »

A number of people have posted that they can not achieve the 2x connectivity and the signal can't go above 130Mbps.

The same has happened to me, and I'm a little concerned that this product is not listed in the "Select Buffalo product" section of the support/ downloads page.

I'm also getting the distinct impression that this is a Wireless-G ethernet converter (WLI-TX4-G54HP) firmware, with Wireless N hardware.  This is mainly due to only being able to select A or G wireless mode from the settings page.

If anyone from Buffalo can give some feedback as to wether the product will be supported in the future, (especially firmware) that would be great, together with letting us know how to get the much coveted 270Mbps speed that our routers can support.

My router is a netgear DG834N ADSL, with the settings set to "upto 270Mbps".

Thanks

Jason

130 Mbps is standard Draft N 2.0 speed.

130Mbps maybe standard, but the box the ethernet converter came in, claims speeds upto 300Mbps.

Have you changed the little switch on the side of the unit?

Thank you - I can't believe it was something so simple - but not having a manual never helps.

Cheers

No problem.  Had mine delivered yesterday and set it up last night.  I was looking for a manual when I came across posts by people having problems with the speed.  Found the solution on another forum.  In fairness I'd have missed it too.  I don't think they could have made the switch much smaller!

Software isn't the best but it seems to be working ok so far.
