USB SATA Dock compatibility with LS-CHL
« on: November 07, 2010, 06:51:41 PM »

Just wondering if a USB docking station will work with with the linkstation LS-CHL

I have a 1tb, but looking for ways to have easy expandability to the unit.

here is an example

I have read that we can't add multiple usb hard drives, so wondering what people have used for quick and easy expandability.

We haven't tried with that specific model of device. The drive would likely be able to be recognized by the CHL, but the "Instant backup" features wouldn't work due to the NAS having a Linux based firmware and format.

Are there similar models that have been tested to work? or a manufacturer that has been tested to work?

We technically dont support adding hubs to the unit. Like the last tech said it could cause some features not to work.

Thanks, that didn't help at all. I have read most of the replies on this forum, and they all basically say "WE don't support that" I should have looked at this forum before purchasing your product
