Buffalo terastation 1.0tsgl r5
« on: August 17, 2010, 04:55:40 PM »

this workstation is running firmware ver. 1.0

I am sharing this on a network that is split between domain access and a seperate set of computers just biggy backing on the network.  All the non domain systems have full connectivity just not added to domain.  My terastation is able to be viewed with no issues by the non domain computers, but the domain computers are not able to see it.  I was wondering if anybody had ideas of what services or priveleges might be denied on the domain that could cause this problem, or something on the terastation I should change to allow access by the domain computers.

Thanks

Have you actually given the domain users read only or read/write access in the Terastation GUi for a particular say? By default they will have no access and you need to set the restrictions yourself (not on the domain or in Windows but only in the Terastations GUI)

Are you using server 2003 or 2008? What firmware is installed on the unit?

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Its firmware version 1.0

I added "Guests" I was under the impression that would include all attempts to view the buffalo that didnt have specific usernames?  Where exactly should I look to allow access by the domain users?

you cannot join to an AD domain on FW 1.0.

You need to be on 1.01 or 1.04
