Terastation Reset: without loss of data?
« on: August 16, 2010, 09:54:44 AM »

Hi,

Tech specs that I can provide.

Terastation Model: HD-H2.0TGL/R5

Windows Xp Pro SP3

I inherited a Buffalo Terastation well after the person who set it up was long gone.  I was given one password which does not seem to work for administration.  Is there away I can go about reseting the admin settings w/o loss of data?

When I log into Browser Management I see a limited menu with no real administration options.  If I change amend the address to http://ipaddress/admin or http://ipaddress/cgi-bin/admin I can see all the options but they are all greyed out.

Also is there a way for me to find the fimware version with out the advanced options?

Thank you for any help in advance

J

Press and hold the INIT button at the back for 10 seconds, this will rest the IP to DHCP and the password back to "password"

It does not effect the data.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
Having network issues? Drop me an email: info@interwebnetworks.com and we will get it fixed!
