LS-XHL and AVI streaming to XBOX 360
« on: July 23, 2010, 12:47:04 PM »

My LS-XHL used to stream avi's to my xbox 360 with no issues and it was great as a media centre.

This has now stopped working since i have upgraded to 1.31 and also 1.33, please can you add the functionality back into the firmware.

I have noticed under the media centre tab a new feature DTCP-IP function:Enabled(1.22-20100113) has this got something to do with my error code on the xbox 360?

DTCP-IP function for IP broadcasting and Digital Transmission Contents Protection Over Internet Protocol (DTCP-IP) copyright protection standard for in-home distribution?

Basically, Buffalo is saying that you have stolen this media and they are not going to let you stream it anymore because you don't have the proper license for it.

@Nox: Basically, I don't think you may speak for us.

@GloveUK: Have you tried re-initializing the unit?

I understand what solution you need.  I'm not seeing a way to disable it once it has been enabled.  I'll look into this and post back when I get a chance.

I have found out the problem, it's the new Twonky Media Service - the only way to disable this is to install firmware 1.24 in debug mode and wipe everything on the linkstation along with the partition tables.

When you install v1.24 this will revert Twonky server back to v4.*

You could also google custom firmware for the linkstation, there is lots of valuable information if you look hard enough.

I am running firmware v1.31 with old twonky version 4.* and streaming is now running.DTCP is disabled :smileyvery-happy:
