Setting up a TeraStation III question
« on: July 27, 2010, 07:35:10 AM »

Hi, I just purchased a TS-RX8.0TL/R5 (Firmware 1.32) yesterday and need to get this operational.  I've gotten the device configured with a static IP address, 192.168.1.99.  I have it attached to a HP gigabyte switch and then connected to my HP DL380 server (Win2003x64) via the 2nd NIC.  I have the 2nd NIC configured to 192.168.1.1.  The first NIC in my server attaches to my main network.  What I want is the TS-RX8 to appear as a drive on my server so I map create file shares for my users.  So far can get the TS-RX8 as a mapped drive, but not one I can create files shares on for the rest of the users. Is there anyway to go about this?

Is it possible to use the Microsoft iSCSI initiator with the TS-RX8?

Thanks

Gary

Nevermind, figured out the issue. I thought I was getting a TS-RIX8.0TL/R5 but instead I got TS-RX8.0-TL/R5.  Now to see if I can return this one for the correct unit.
